Outlook: Huhn is excited about her team’s potential. Dickinson and Podeszwa earned All-ECC Division II recognition last season. There will be only three seniors in the starting lineup, so the team is fairly young but most returning players gained experience last season. Ghiglia said: “Our goal is to be every bit as good this year and try to go one step further.” The Lancers have great potential and return a talented squad but will unfortunately be without two key players in Amarys Jimenez and Anna Waddington for the season due to injuries. Outlook: The Lancers (15-4-2, 7-0-1) enter the 2022 season following a very successful 2021 which saw them win the ECC Division II title, finish second in the ECC tournament and have one of their best-ever showings in the Class L tournament, falling to eventual state champion St. Terwilliger was an All-ECC selection at midfield last season. The group is young but has excellent leadership and experience within the senior class and returning starters. Outlook: The Bears (6-10-1) return the majority of starters from last season. English and Vaudrey were All-ECC Division III selections last year, leading Ledyard to the division title, as well as the ECC Division II tournament championship, in which McLeod was named Most Outstanding Player. They are looking forward to the challenge and look to be competitive in the conference. Outlook: The Colonels (12-3-1) have moved up to Division II in the ECC. With an extremely young roster, Rafala will be incorporating new talent with many first time varsity players. Outlook: The Bobcats (11-6-3) look to build off a successful campaign last year that ended in the state quarterfinals. Note: Division I includes Woodstock Academy Outlook: The Wildcats (5-8-4, 3-2-1) are looking to be competitive in the ECC this season. Singleton will be leading the attack as she looks to build on her All-ECC second team honors from last season. Jenkins has the opportunity to be a big-time stopper in goal, with Hurley, a four-year varsity player, controlling the midfield. Outlook: The Falcons (1-15, 0-6) are a young team after graduating eight players and will be looking to the seniors to step up to help the team continue to improve in a tough ECC division. The Vikings (16-3, 6-0) return Belleville, an All-ECC midfielder, and will integrate a new group of players as they try to remain at the top of the league. Outlook: The defending ECC Division I tournament champion, East Lyme is missing All-New England selection Meredith Healy, The Day’s Player of the Year, as well as a number of other graduates. Top newcomers: Isabella Chambers, Ella Cook, Kaitlyn DiLoreto, Aubrey Jorgensen, Elisa Jorgensen, Lacey-Lee Keramides, Linnaya Rheaume, Anna Thomson.
